The Yankees' Kyle Farnsworth was suspended for three games and fined Saturday for throwing behind the neck of Red Sox slugger Manny Ramirez earlier this week.
Farnsworth appealed the penalty, which was to start Saturday night against the Orioles. He will be eligible to pitch until a hearing is held.

Thome?s suspension may be served Tuesday when the White Sox were home against the A's. If he appeals, he will be able to play until the appeals process is completed, as reported by the Associated Press.
Guillen Receives Another Stay On Suspension
Royals' outfielder Jose Guillen has received another stay on his pending 15-day suspension, according to the Kansas City Star.
Major League Baseball and the players' union agreed on another delay on Wednesday.
"It is what it is," Guillen said. "I?m still playing."
Guillen's Suspension Will Start Thursday Without Agreement
Jose Guillen's 15-day suspension will start on Thursday, unless players and owners agree on changes to the current drug rules or the penalty is postponed once again, according to the Associated Press.
Kansas City battles New York in a three-game series starting on Tuesday, meaning Guillen could potentially miss the series' finale.
He has still yet to discuss the drug-related suspension.
Cabrera, Duncan Have Suspensions Reduced
Melky Cabrera and Shelley Duncan of the Yankees were given the opportunity to reduce their suspensions by one game on Friday, according to the New York Post.
The players were both originally suspended three games for their role in a brawl with the Rays during spring training.
"The Players' Association and Commissioner's office got together and found common ground, so it's time to serve and move on," GM Brian Cashman said.
Cabrera sat out New York's games on Friday and Saturday, while Duncan will miss contests on Sunday and Monday.
