Reds Sign Jared Hughes To Two-Year Contract

The Cincinnati Reds signed right-handed reliever Jared Hughes to a two-year contract on Tuesday.

The Associated Press reported that Hughes will get $2,125,000 in each of the next two seasons. The Reds' option in 2020 is worth $3 million with a $250,000 buyout.

Hughes, 32, went 5-3 with a 3.02 ERA and one save in 67 appearances (59 2/3 innings) for the Milwaukee Brewers last season.

Right-handed starter Yovani Gallardo has agreed to a deal with the Brewers, according to multiple reports.

The agreement was first reported by The Athletic.

Gallardo was 5-10 with a 5.72 ERA in 28 games (22 starts) with the Mariners last season.

Chris Archer is drawing a lot of interest on the trade market and the Tampa Bay Rays have heard from the Atlanta Braves, Milwaukee Brewers, St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs and Minnesota Twins.

Archer would bring back a huge haul, but it remains to be seen if the Rays would seriously consider trading him.

He has pitched to a 3.63 ERA/3.46 FIP combination with 9.72 K/9 against 2.94 BB/9 in 967 career innings and has made no fewer than 32 starts four years in a row.

The Milwaukee Brewers have agreed to a one-year, $3.065 million deal with Stephen Vogt, according to a source.

Vogt was claimed off waivers by the Brewers in June.

He logged a .254/.281/.508 slash line with the Brewers and hit eight home runs in 122 at-bats.
