Alex Bregman has decided to opt out of his current contract with the Boston Red Sox to become a free agent for the second straight offseason. Bregman had $80 million owed to him over the next two seasons.

The Detroit Tigers are reportedly the most obvious team with interest in Bregman as he could be reunited with his former manager A.J. Hinch. The Tigers offered $171.5 million over six seasons during last year's offseason, but Bregman countered by requesting an additional $10 million.

The Toronto Blue Jays and Seattle Mariners are also considered possible fits for Bregman, who could also re-sign with the Red Sox.

Bregman finished his first season with the Red Sox hitting .273 with 18 homers and 62 RBIs.
