Nathan Eovaldi has no plans to discuss a contract extension with the Boston Red Sox during the season.

It had been reported that Eovaldi might talk about a long-term deal with the Red Sox, but the right-hander now seems destined to reach free agency.

Eovaldi is coming off the best season of his Major League career, posting a 3.75 ERA and strong command over 182 innings.
