Coming off an MVP season, Shohei Ohtani has yet to discuss a long-term contract extension with the Los Angeles Angels.

Ohtani told The Athletic through an interpreter that his representatives at CAA Baseball have had "no talks yet" regarding an extension with the Angels.

He signed a two-year contract last February that guaranteed him a total of $8.5 million to avoid arbitration through 2022. He'll make $5.5 million this year and is scheduled to go through arbitration a final time before reaching free agency two seasons from now.
