The Cleveland Indians and Francisco Lindor have suspended negotiations on a long-term contract extension.

The shortstop says he still wants to remain with the Indians over the long-term.

"We had good conversations," Lindor said. "We couldn't come up with an agreement. So we put that aside and let's focus on winning."

Lindor, 26, avoided arbitration this offseason, signing a one-year, $17.5 million deal -- a $7 million bump on what he made in 2019. He won't be a free agent until after the 2021 season.
