The Houston Astros are expected to sign Cuban outfielder Pedro Leon to a $4 million deal when a new international signing period opens July 2, according to sources.

The 21-year-old would immediately become one of the class's highest-paid players.

He has played mostly corner outfield in Cuba and has hit for power in games, but is reputed to have above-average speed, a plus arm and plus raw power as a right-handed hitter.
