The Los Angeles Dodgers and Clayton Kershaw have agreed to extend the deadline for Kershaw to decide whether to exercise his contract option until Friday at 4 p.m. ET.
Kershaw, 30, signed a seven-year, $215 million contract in January 2014 that included a player option to become a free agent after five seasons.
The original deadline was midnight on Wednesday.
Kershaw, 30, is owed $65 million over the next two seasons.
