During recent meetings with company employees, ESPN executives informed nearly everyone from broadcasters to production assistants that they may be contacted by a private investigator representing Reynolds, NYP TV Sports has learned.
The ESPN executives said that employees can speak with the investigator, but requested they inform ESPN officials if they do.
In June, ESPN fired Reynolds, charging him with sexual harassment. In the suit, Reynolds claims it was nothing more than an "innocuous hug'' with a female intern, and that he was wrongly terminated.
Prior to ESPN letting Reynolds go, it had just signed him to a new six-year contract for about $6 million. He had worked at ESPN for 11 years.
