Curtis Granderson and the New York Mets are making progress on a three-year deal.
Granderson met with Sandy Alderson on Sunday.
The Mets already signed Chris Young this offseason, meaning the addition of Granderson would give their outfield a legitimate power boost.
Granderson suffered a broken forearm during spring training and a pinkie injury later in the season limited him to 245 plate appearances.
If the Mets sign Granderson, it would surely become the biggest contract of Alderson's four-year tenure.
