The Tampa Bay Rays are expected to trade David Price sooner rather than later, but the front office isn't resigned to that fate just yet.

The Rays are trying to figure out a way to make Price the head of their pitching staff for years to come, but they appear to be losing the battle.

The belief around baseball is that the Rays will look to make another deal like the one they made last offseason. They sent James Shields and Wade Davis to the Kansas City Royals for Wil Myers.

Price, who made $10.1 million in 2013, is eligible for arbitration.
