The Oakland Athletics were eliminated from the playoffs in five games by the Detroit Tigers, but they aren't expected to make major changes this offseason.

"Short of cloning our own [Justin] Verlander and having him in Game 5 to go toe to toe, Bob [Melvin], the front office and I just want to put ourselves in position to have those days and hopefully come out on top -- or win Game 4," Billy Beane said.

The A's were nine outs from advancing in Game 4, but they couldn't hang on.

"Our makeup's our makeup," Melvin said. "If you look at the number of runs we scored, it's pretty good. We won our division doing things a certain way. We just fell one game short. I don't know if you completely try to do things differently if you come up a game short."
