The Giants have until Friday to tender Brian Wilson a one-year contract worth at least $6.8 million.

San Francisco sees that as a risky proposition with Wilson coming off his second Tommy John surgery.

If they don't tender him a contract, he'll become a free agent. However, that doesn't mean his time with the Giants would end. They could negotiate with Wilson as an outright free agent and give him a low-base, incentive-laden contract.
