The Yankees expect Andy Pettitte to return for the 2013 season, but when negotiations begin Brian Cashman expects that money could become an issue.
"He could tell his agents, 'I want to play and find out what [the Yankees] are looking at.' Or he could give us a number," Cashman said.
Pettitte has leverage because he is a free agent the Yankees really need and their focus is on pitching.
