The Mets are looking to sign R.A. Dickey to a long-term contract despite significant trade value.
"I would say 10, 12 teams, maybe more, would be in on him, if the Mets decided to move him," said one American League executive.
It remains to be seen if the Mets would change course and opt to trade Dickey to help further their rebuilding process. They are also concentrated on extending David Wright's contract.
"I'm sure they think they can get a lot," said a National League executive. "But how much is a lot? My question is, would you be able to sign him?"
