The Mets are open to trading Ike Davis, according to a baseball source.

The team is willing to deal Davis, once considered part of the team's core, because it would allow Lucas Duda to play his natural position (first base).

New York believes Davis will have value on the market because he has big power potential (27 homers, 81 RBIs, .223/.302/.444 slash line in 529 plate appearances this season).

Davis may lose some trade value, however, because of additional comments made by the industry source. The Mets are reportedly upset with the slugger for his unwillingness to make adjustments and be coached.

They are also worried about Davis staying out too late after games.
