In each of the past two seasons, the Yankees have gotten an effective and successful starting pitcher out of their own system. In 2010, it was Phil Hughes, who won 18 games. This past season, it was rookie Ivan Nova, who won 16 times. Heading into the 2012 season, Yankees general manager Brian Cashman is hoping Hector Noesi can follow the lead of Hughes and Nova. "Noesi has the chance to be a good major league starter," Cashman said. "We like Noesi as much as we like Nova." "Right now Noesi is competing for the fifth spot in the rotation," he added.
