Matt Capps is a free agent and struggled in a temporary role as the closer for the Twins in 2011, but he could be re-signed and given another chance. Minnesota's interest in Capps, 28, is strictly as a closer, even though the right-hander fell on hard times last season. He led the team with 15 saves but lost his job to Joe Nathan in early July and finished 4-7 with a 4.25 earned-run average. "He struggled; there's no question," general manager Terry Ryan said of Capps last year. "I don't know the particulars because I wasn't there, but it's safe to say Matt wasn't the only player who struggled last season. Anyone can have a tough year."
