The Rangers have asked utility man Michael Young to begin working on his skills in the outfield. Young said the team approached him about learning the basics of outfield play on Thursday after Endy Chavez left a game in Kansas City with hamstring tightness. He will likely only be used in the outfield during emergency situations, but Texas is approaching that with three outfielders on the disabled list.
