The Blue Jays became the first team in three years to hit eight home runs in a game on Saturday afternoon.
Toronto defeated Tampa Bay 17-11 at the Rogers Centre.
The Jays got two home runs apiece from Aaron Hill and rookie J.P. Arencibia, who was making his major league debut.
"I've never seen anything like it for a team that I've played for or against," said Jose Bautista. "It was just one of those days, the balls kept going out of the yard."
Bautista, Adam Lind, Edwin Encarnacion and Lyle Overbay also connected for the Blue Jays, who lead the majors with 175 homers.
