Adam Dunn is still hoping to get a new contract from the Nationals.
The first baseman said Sunday that there is no deadline for an extension, but acknowledged he would like to get something done so he doesn't have to hear his name in trade rumors.
"I would like to have some serious talks soon. If not, we have a long offseason [to get something done]," Dunn said. "I don't have a time line. [But] I don't want this thing lingering on until July. But things are going good, as far as negotiations. It's not going to affect me one way or the other. I look at it as a trade deadline thing. I don't want every single day [someone asking how the negotiations are going]. I don't want that to happen."
