Braves' Manager Bobby Cox believes that maple bats put both players and fans in danger, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "It's really dangerous," said Cox, who never even saw a piece from a maple bat fly over his head last week. "There are four or five a night," Cox said of the dangerous broken bats. "We're going to lose an eye or something. It could be a fan, could be an umpire, could be a player, could be guys in the dugout, could be anybody. They're going that far." Major League Baseball is considering a crackdown on the use of maple bats.
