Tommy Pham Slaps Joc Pederson Over Fantasy Football Dispute

May 28, 2022 1:06 PM

Giants outfielder Joc Pederson said Reds outfielder Tommy Pham slapped him before Friday's series opener over a dispute about their fantasy football league.

While the Giants warmed up in the outfield, Pham confronted Pederson and smacked him in the cheek before the pair was separated.

"It was a surprise," Pederson told reporters. "There was no real argument. He kind of came up and said, 'Like, I don't know if you remember from last year.' And I was like, 'Fantasy football.' He was like, 'Yeah.'"

Trout Expected To Be Top Fantasy Player

Sep 27, 2014 3:36 PM

Mike Trout, who wasn't even in the Major Leagues when the 2012 season started, is expected to be one of the top fantasy players heading into this year.

He was the American League Rookie of the Year and runner-up to Miguel Cabrera in MVP voting.

Trout led the Majors in runs scored, with 129, and steals, with 49. He batted .326 with 30 homers and 83 RBIs, solidifying himself as a true five-category stud.

He was also the recipient of some luck, as his .383 batting average on balls in play was the third highest in the Major Leagues.
