The Brewers claimed third baseman Casey McGehee off waivers from the Cubs on Wednesday, according to Yahoo.com.
McGehee spent a majority of last season with Class AAA Iowa of the PCL, where he batted .296 with 12 homers and 92 RBI in 133 games.

Jays Sign Loewen, Claim Bullington Off Waivers
The Blue Jays acquired two of the top four picks in the 2002 draft on Friday, signing converted pitcher Adam Loewen to a minor league deal and claiming pitcher Bryan Bullington off waivers.
Bullington was selected by the Pirates with the top overall selection and Loewen was taken fourth by the Orioles.
Kings Claim Cuevas Off Waivers From Braves, Place Wells On Waivers
The Kansas City Royals have claimed right-handed pitcher Jairo Cuevas off Outright Waivers from the Atlanta Braves. To make room for Cuevas on the 40-man roster, the Royals requested Unconditional Release Waivers on right-handed pitcher Kip Wells. With the moves, the Royals roster remains at 40.
Cuevas, 24, made just seven appearances (six starts) in the Braves organization this season for Mississippi (AA) and the Gulf Coast Braves (R). The 6-foot-2, 217-pounder underwent season-ending surgery on his labrum in his right shoulder on Aug. 22. The surgery was performed by Dr. James Andrews. The resident of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, was the 2005 Danville (R) Most Valuable Pitcher of the Year, going 6-1 with a 1.95 ERA in 27 appearances, including 23 starts. He was originally signed by the Braves as a non-drafted free agent on March 20, 2003. Cuevas' name is pronounced "HIGH-row KWAY-vahs".
Wells, 31, went 0-1 with an 8.71 ERA in 10 relief appearances for the Royals after being claimed off waivers on Aug. 19.
Barrett Clears Waivers, Opts For Free Agency
Former Padres' catcher Michael Barrett has cleared waivers and opted to become a free agent this winter.
Barrett missed 115 games this season because of injuries.
He missed the last three months of the season after fouling a ball off his face on July 2. He also was on the DL from April 8-May 24 with a sprained right elbow.
Barrett batted .202 with two home runs and nine RBIs in 30 games.
Padres Waive Barrett, Claim Denker From Giants
Padres' veteran catcher Michael Barrett, who missed 115 games because of injuries last season, has elected to test free agency after clearing waivers, according to an Associated Press report.
Also Friday, the Padres claimed second baseman Travis Denker off waivers from the Giants.
