Right-hander Jeremy Bonderman was set to go. Tuesday night's start against the Twins at Comerica Park was going to be his grand finale to 2007, as well as affirmation his tender right elbow had come back 100 percent from this month's bout of inflammation. Sunday, after the Tigers had beaten the Royals, 7-2, at Comerica Park, Bonderman's start was canceled by Tigers manager Jim Leyland. Bonderman will not pitch again this season. "Basically, it's normal soreness all over," Leyland said, explaining Bonderman's sideline throwing session Saturday, while promising, led to Sunday discomfort that ended any Tuesday plans. "It doesn't make sense to pitch him. There are no red flags. He's fine." Bonderman said he wasn't overly disappointed his season had officially ended (11-9 record, 5.01 earned-run average).
