Jeremy Bonderman may still be available to pitch this season. Testing his troublesome right elbow in a game of catch before Monday night's 6-5, 11-inning Tigers' loss to the Indians at Jacobs Field, Bonderman said he anticipated feeling some pain, but felt none. It wasn't enough encouragement for him to think he'll definitely get another start before the regular season ends, but it was enough for him to now think he might. "I didn't throw off the mound, I just played catch," he said, "but the pain was gone. I have to throw a few more times before anything gets decided, but I was definitely encouraged." More than anything, Bonderman's first session of throwing since he was shut down last week was for fact finding. "I didn't know where I was at with the pain," he said. "I wanted to know if it was still there, and it wasn't today. I was kind of skeptical about it. I thought I'd throw a couple of pitches and be coming back in. But it felt great."
