Cardinals outfielder Juan Encarnacion will miss the rest of the season after suffering multiple fractures of his left eye socket and a serious eye injury when he was hit by a foul ball.
Encarnacion was hospitalized after being hit square in the face by a foul ball in the sixth inning of the Cardinals' win over Cincinnati on Friday.
In a statement Saturday, the Cardinals confirmed the outfielder's season is over.
