Kenny Rogers threw 52 pitches and the three hitters who faced him on Friday in a simulated game at McAfee Coliseum raved about him. No date has been assigned to when Rogers will start again for the Tigers. From the way the 45-year-old left-hander spoke, however, it would be surprising if it's not next week. "I just need to be able to execute my pitches," Rogers said. "I had enough today to do that." When asked if what he had in Friday's session was enough for him to take to the mound next week, Rogers said, "It's plenty, without a doubt. Whether it's enough to win a ballgame you never know. "I wasn't too uncomfortable. I'm always looking to be as sharp as I can. Certain things were really good, certain things I have to improve on. Overall, I was pretty happy with it."
