According to a National League source, the Marlins have acquired outfielder Jacque Jones from the Chicago Cubs. Full details of the deal have yet to emerge, but Jones, 31, likely is headed to Florida along with a trunk load of the Cubs' money. He's owed another $7.12 million over the next two seasons. The Cubs had been trying to deal the left-handed hitting Jones since the offseason. Part of a crowded outfield that includes Alfonso Soriano, Cliff Floyd, Matt Murton and top prospect Felix Pie, Jones appeared in 63 games this season and hit .234 with two homers, 20 RBI and a .623 on-base plus slugging percentage.
