Despite a nagging right quadriceps muscle that required a painkilling injection Sunday, right fielder Jermaine Dye does not believe he will be placed on the disabled list. The reason for Dye's belief is that the White Sox don't have anyone at Triple-A Charlotte ready to take his place on the roster. Dye, a potential free agent who could be traded before the July 31 non-waiver deadline, said he will start performing limited baseball work on Tuesday. But he won't rush himself back to the playing field after talking to Williams following Sunday's game. "I'm going to let Kenny know the last day here [Thursday], tell him how it's feeling and go from there. He told me there is no rush. Get better and make sure I'm right." Dye could be dealt shortly after he returns. Several teams, including the Dodgers, have scouted him recently and are believed to be in the market for a slugger of Dye's caliber.
