The Colorado Rockies have agreed to a seven-year contract extension with shortshop Ezequiel Tovar, according to a Major League source.

The deal is worth $63.5 million and Tovar can earn a total of $84 million if an option for 2031 is exercised.

The club confirmed that a deal had taken place but declined to discuss terms or announce it officially because a physical is pending.

Tovar, 22, appeared in 153 games last season and slashed .253/.287/.408 with 15 home runs and 73 RBIs.
