Nestor Cortes is expected to land on the 15-day injured list with a left shoulder injury, according to New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone.

Cortes is expected to undergo an MRI on Monday or Tuesday in New York to determine the severity of the injury. Boone said the left-hander has been having difficulty bouncing back between starts.

"We don't think it's anything too major, but the last couple of times recovering in between, he's had that achiness," Boone said.

In 11 starts this season, the 28-year-old Cortes has posted a 5-2 record with a 5.16 ERA.
