The Oakland Athletics' move to Las Vegas could be held up over a request for public funding, according to a report.

Earlier this week it was announced that the A's agreed with Bally's Corporation to build a new ballpark on the city's famous strip. The deal also requested $395 million in public financing.

Nevada lawmakers have not yet introduced legislation to bring the A's to Las Vegas because they are only willing to contribute up to $195 million in transferable tax credits for stadium construction funding, not the full $395 million the team is seeking, sources told the Nevada Independent.

The current plan is for the A's to begin play in their new Vegas ballpark in 2027.
