Chaim Bloom said at the team's end-of-season press conference that retaining Xander Bogaerts is a top priority for the Boston Red Sox.

Members of the club's ownership group have met with Bogaerts over the past week and expressed similar sentiments privately to the infielder.

Bogaerts can opt out of the final three years and $60 million remaining on his contract after the postseason ends, but the Red Sox hope to secure a new deal before then.
