Robbie Grossman dropped a short fly ball with two outs in the eighth inning to end his record errorless streak at 440 games on Sunday.

The error set up two unearned runs for the Chicago White Sox, who defeated the Detroit Tigers 4-2.

Grossman, 32, hadn't made an error since June 13, 2018, while a member of the Minnesota Twins, setting a Major League record for a position player.

Grossman had 821 total chances in between errors.

"I missed a popup and it's a terrible play on my part," he said. "It's a play I should be able to make and I'll make it the next time it comes to me."
