The Tampa Bay Rays have had preliminary discussions with the Chicago Cubs about a Kris Bryant trade, according to sources.

Bryant is hitting .269/.356/.500 with 17 home runs and 19 doubles in 91 games this season.

He's owed the balance of his $19.5 million salary for this year.
