Derek Jeter has suggested that the Miami Marlins intend to exercise their club option on Starling Marte.

Miami acquired Marte as part of a four-player trade with the Arizona Diamondbacks at the deadline.

Marte, 32, hit .281/.340/.430 with six home runs and 10 stolen bases this season.

His contract included a $12.5 million option for next season, along with a $1 million buyout.
