The Rangers are expected to finalize an agreement with left-hander Bruce Chen on Tuesday, signing him to a minor league contract with an invitation to major league spring training. Chen, 29, was 0-7 with a 6.93 ERA in 40 games, including 12 starts, for the Baltimore Orioles last season. However, the year before, he was 13-10 with a 3.83 ERA. He would be competing for the fifth spot in the rotation.
