The Chicago White Sox made a formal offer to Manny Machado on Thursday, according to a report.

The club hasn't confirmed or denied the report.

Bob Nightengale characterized the long-term offer as serious and likely closer to $200 million than $300 million, citing four sources.

The White Sox have remained in contact with Bryce Harper, but haven't made an offer to him.

Machado visited the White Sox on the Monday following the Winter Meetings in Las Vegas.
