The Boston Red Sox beat the Baltimore Orioles on Monday night for their franchise-record 106th win of the season.

The 1912 Red Sox won 105 games en route to winning the World Series.

"You think about all the history of the game and the history of this franchise," Alex Cora said.

The win also assured the Red Sox of home-field advantage throughout the postseason.

The team with the best record has reached the World Series in both of the past two seasons.
