Manny Machado hit a home run in the ninth inning in his first game with the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium.

Machado said he would "definitely" take these next few months as an opportunity to determine whether the Dodgers are a fit long-term as he hits free agency.

"I'm going to try different things and try new things," Machado said. "It's definitely going to be a learning experience. I'll get to know the city a lot better, I'll get to know the organization a lot better. At the end of the day, we'll see what happens."

The fans at Dodger Stadium had a MANNYWOOD 2.0 sign in the bleachers.

"It's awesome," Machado said of Dodger Stadium. "There's a lot of history here."

Machado would like to play shortstop long-term though he's currently played third base filling in for Justin Turner. Corey Seager is out for the season with Tommy John surgery, but he could play second base when he returns regardless of whether Machado is re-signed.

"Obviously I'm a shortstop at heart," Machado said. "I want to continue to play shortstop. I will go back over there. But at the end of the day, the most important goal is to get to the World Series and to win the World Series."
