It was quite the journey, but Mike Moustakas is back with the Kansas City Royals.
He rejected the club's one-year, $17.4 million qualifying offer earlier this offseason before ultimately agreeing to a one-year deal with an option for 2019 that could bring the contract's total value to nearly $23 million.
According to a pair of league sources, Moustakas and agent Scott Boras rejected a three-year, $45 million deal from the Los Angeles Angels. Boras, however, denied such an offer.
"There was never a multi-year contract offer made to Mike Moustakas by the Angels or any other major-league team," the agent said.
