Joe Girardi is uncertain if he'll return to the New York Yankees as manager in 2018.

Girardi's four-year, $16 million contract is up at the end of this season.

Both Girardi and the Yankees have been quiet on whether they want to continue the relationship.

"I thought everybody did everything they possibly could to get where we wanted to go -- to be the last team standing," Brian Cashman said. "It is what it is."

Cashman's contract is also up this offseason but he's expected to sign a new deal.

Girardi, 53, has managed the Yankees for a decade since he replaced his Hall of Fame predecessor, Joe Torre, in 2008.
