The Chicago White Sox have promoted Yoan Moncada after trading Todd Frazier, David Robertson and Tommy Kahnle to the New York Yankees.

Moncada will make his debut for the White Sox on Wednesday against the Los Angeles Dodgers. He will serve as the club's starting second baseman.

"We aren't bringing him here to sit," Rick Hahn said of Moncada. "We are bringing him here to continue the development that needs to take place in Chicago.

"He still has some work to do. He's obviously still very young. But we feel that he's ready for that next challenge that comes at the big league level."
