The Marlins talked to the Pittsburgh Pirates last week about bringing left-hander Mark Redman back to Florida, according to a source with knowledge of the talks.
It is unclear who, if anyone, the Marlins proposed sending to Pittsburgh for Redman.
Redman is 4-8 with a 3.76 ERA for the Pirates. He went 14-9 with a 3.59 ERA in 2003 to help the Marlins win the World Series. He was traded to Oakland in December 2003 for pitchers Mike Neu and Bill Murphy.
