Coming off his breakout 2016 season, utility man Jose Ramirez is nearing a four-year contract extension with the Indians, according to a Yahoo! Sports report.

The deal, which would begin next season and keep Ramirez under contract through the 2023 season, includes two club options and would guarantee Ramirez close to $30 million, according to the report. If the Indians exercise both options, the deal would be worth nearly $50 million, the report said.

Ramirez, 24, had 11 home runs, 76 RBIs and 22 stolen bases last season, which was his fourth in the majors, all in Cleveland.
