The San Francisco Giants are showing strong interest in acquiring Jeff Samardzija from the Chicago Cubs.

The New York Yankees, Baltimore Orioles, Los Angeles Angels, Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays are also believed to be in the mix.

The right-hander has a 2.77 ERA, 1.176 WHIP and 82 strikeouts in 91 innings this season.
