Gregory Polanco, the Pirates' right fielder of the future and one of baseball's most highly regarded prospects, rejected a multiyear deal during spring training, according to multiple media reports.

Polanco turned down a seven-year deal that also included three team options, which would have allowed the Pirates to buy out his first three years of free agency.
