Mike Trout is destined to become the MLB's highest paid player. Trout has the highest wins above replacement in baseball over the past two seasons.

Trout is only 22 years old and is scheduled to become a free agent at 26 if the Los Angeles Angels do not get a long-term contract done before then.

The Angels could go year to year with Trout in arbitration beginning next winter, or could sign a long-term deal similar to those signed by Buster Posey and Evan Longoria.

"Twelve years, $400 million," said a rival agent that doesn't represent Trout on what he would seek from the Angels.
