Alex Rodriguez will be dropped to sixth in the Yankee lineup on Tuesday for Game 1 of the division series against the Tigers. It's the first time in more than 10 years that Rodriguez has hit that low in a batting order. "We all know Alex is very conscientious, he would like to do tons of things and we feel that just to sort of allow things to happen more so than trying to do too much is probably a better way to approach it." Johnny Damon, Derek Jeter and Bobby Abreu filled the top three spots and Gary Sheffield, who has played all of nine games since returning from wrist surgery, is the cleanup hitter. Jason Giambi, the designated hitter, is batting in front of A-Rod.
